The Division of General Surgery, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta, and the Clinical Department of Surgery, Alberta Health Services, Edmonton Zone is accepting applications for a clinical academic General Surgeon with training in Trauma Surgery and/or Acute Care Surgery.

The Division of General Surgery is recruiting a surgeon to start July 1, 2018, although this date is flexible. The candidate will be expected to exhibit a strong research background, with an interest in Acute Care Surgery and Trauma. Elective and acute care coverage will be primarily based at the Royal Alexandra Hospital with Trauma surgery coverage at both the Royal Alexandra Hospital and the University of Alberta Hospital sites. The Royal Alexandra Hospital is one of Edmonton’s largest and longest serving hospitals, offering general and specialized medical and surgical health services, and features one of Canada’s busiest emergency departments. Located in the heart of the City of Edmonton, the Royal Alexandra Hospital provides a wide variety of health services to the City of Edmonton and surrounding area. The hospital operates 749 beds and cares for almost half a million patients annually, and employs over 4,800 full-and part-time staff.
