General Surgery Locum: Timmins, ON

General Surgery Locums are to cover occasional monthly on call, especially weekends and for vacation coverage.

The Timmins and District Hospital is a fully accredited referral and teaching hospital and offers a full range of Medical, Surgical, Critical Care, Maternal/Child, Long Term Care and Mental Health services. Affiliated with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM), there is plenty of opportunity for teaching medical students and residents.

Timmins and District Hospital is a 153 bed district hospital serving a local population of 45,000 and a catchment area of 110,000. Timmins is located in Northeastern Ontario, built upon a gold mining heritage. Endless outdoor adventures are never more than a stone’s throw away with four predictable seasons providing year round enjoyment.

Applicants must hold Canadian Citizenship and must be certified or eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be eligible for a full independent medical license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).

Supported through the Northern Specialist Locum Program through Health Force Ontario. Includes HOCC on call stipend. Flight, hotel, car rental expenses reimbursed as well as travel honorarium.
