The Canadian General Surgery Foundation (CGSF) – formally the Canadian Surgery Research Fund – was founded in 1983 to promote research performed by general surgeons and general surgery residents in both clinical and basic science.
The Foundation, now in its 40th year, is expanding its focus to include projects in the areas of advocacy and education, as well as research at all career stages. A new program launched in 2023 is centered on the development of low-tech / low-cost solutions to aid rural and remote surgeons practicing in low- and middle-income centers in Canada.
Donations to the Foundation are used to support general surgery research through the annual General Surgery Operating Grant Competition and the Surgical Oncology Research Grant.
The Board of the CGSF acknowledges the importance of your donations that assist in funding these important activities and thanks you for your generous gift.
