Education
Education is a central aspect of the CAGS mission, and to ensure the educational programs CAGS develops are of the highest quality, it maintains its status as an accredited educational provider of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. CAGS offers all members a variety of ways to earn Maintenance of Certification (MOC) credits:
- The Canadian Surgery Forum (CSF) is Canada’s largest surgical conference and hosts more than 1000 attendees annually in cities across Canada, offering dynamic hands-on workshops, innovative didactic symposia and compelling lectures.
- The CAGS General Surgery Learning & Resource Centre offers a wide variety of online learning content, with a focus on opportunities to earn Section 3 MOC credits. CAGS membership grants access to free and deeply discounted educational content.
- Certificate of Recognition programs, including Operative Delivery & Maternal Care and Practical Urology for the Rural General Surgeon, provide learners with both online and hands-on learning opportunities.
