CAGS President Volunteer Recognition Awards

Volunteer Recognition Program

Awarded annually at during the Awards Ceremony at the Canadian Surgery Forum, the President Volunteer Recognition Awards recognize CAGS members that have shown dedication to the work of any of CAGS 20+ committees and working groups. Nominations will be sought directly from Committee and Working Group Chairs/Vice Chairs.

Deadline for nominations is May 15, 2026.

Eligibility & Nomination Criteria

This award is open to all members of any active CAGS committee or working group, including Resident Committee and CSF program and planning committees.

Criteria

• Must be a CAGS member in good standing
• Nominees must have made a significant contribution to the committee making the nomination that supports the CAGS strategic imperatives and pillars.

Nominations must also include:

• A brief description of the accomplishments and contributions to CAGS, noting tangible products, assets, or other inputs to committee and the organization

Review Process & Presentation

All nominations will go to the CAGS Executive Committee for review and decision, and a letter will be sent to the recipient.

The Exceptional Service Award will be presented annually in person at the Canadian Surgery Forum during the President’s Address.
